Sanus 26-inch Speaker Stands Review

After having purchased Polk Audio Legend L200 bookshelf speakers, the next step was to obtain a quality pair of speaker stands to compliment them. I did a brief search and asked around a bit; all signs pointed to Sanus.

I sat down in my listening chair and with a few thoughtful calculations decided that the Sanus SF26 heavy duty speaker stands, weighing in at 35lbs were the way to go. Of course I first looked on Sanus’ official website for purchasing options, and on a hunch I pulled up the SVS subwoofer and speakers website to find out what they recommend. SVS being known for some of the finest subs and speakers for the price, it seemed a worthwhile look. My hunch paid off. SVS had the same Sanus stands for about 20 dollars less which dollar-for-dollar isn’t a lot, but psychologically I felt like I was getting a deal. So, long story short, I ordered a pair.

They arrived promptly, packaged well, so I got down to business opening them up and started assembly. The weight of the stands was formidable and beckoned to the satisfaction of my expectations. more than anything I wanted suitable support and companions to my new bookshelf speakers. Sanus did not disappoint. The metal construction assembled with relative ease and once completed they felt sturdy and solid. The stands came with versatile carpet spikes, hard-surface mounts, speaker rests and for those that need it, speaker anchoring screws. The hardware options were excellent for maximum isolation and performance. They also included speaker wire guides that mount to the rear of the columns for a nice clean look.

I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I may even fill the metal tubes for more stability, but I doubt it. That would be overkill with this workhorse. Simple, sleek, study design seem to be the guiding principles behind these great stands.
