The 2025 AXPONA reaffirmed its status as North America’s premier high-end audio exhibition, drawing audiophiles, manufacturers, and music lovers from around the world to the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center in Illinois from April 11–13. The three-day event showcased innovations in high fidelity audio, where flagship loudspeakers and turntables to cutting-edge personal audio tech swirled around attendees on every floor!
If I am correct (and I believe I am) this year’s show marked a milestone for the expo as the largest AXPONA to date. More than 700 manufacturers, retailers, and distributors from over 50 countries participated, filling 200 plus dedicated listening rooms across 12 floors of the convention center. The demo rooms allowed visitors to experience high-performance audio in thoughtfully arranged listening environments. As I flitted from floor to floor and room to room seeking my known favorites and being surprised by new brands and components, I felt like a dragon must feel when rolling in some fantastic treasure hoard!
I felt very privileged as I sat among some of the most unapologetically fine audio and audiovisual room experiences. While the show absolutely focuses upon the best in sound quality, AXPONA did not neglect to feature some outstanding home theater ideas and demos.
The expo floor also featured the Ear Gear Experience—one of the largest gatherings of headphone and personal-audio brands in the US—alongside a fair filled with wifi tech, turntables, and accessories. An atmospheric vibration fueled the buzz among attendees and exhibitors alike. AXPONA 2025 highlighted the continued vitality of the high-end audio industry.
